Product Information

This listing is for the completed red and gold Guruji Singhasan Chair shown. One only is currently available from our Melbourne showroom.

Any future reproduction or custom ceremonial furniture commission would be separately quoted and subject to manufacturing lead times, material availability and confirmed specifications.

Please contact our team on (03) 9736 9490 to confirm availability, dimensions, delivery requirements and purchasing arrangements.

Availability & Lead Time

This is a completed, one-only stock item and does not require the usual custom manufacturing period.

Delivery timing will depend on the purchaser’s location, access requirements and the specialist transport arrangements required for a chair of this size and significance.

Availability remains subject to prior sale.

Handcrafted Furniture

This ceremonial chair has been individually handcrafted using traditional furniture-making and carving techniques. As a result, carved profiles, dimensions, joinery details, upholstery tension and decorative finishes may display subtle handmade variation.

These variations are not considered faults but form part of the authenticity and individuality of genuine handcrafted furniture.

Solid Mahogany Timber

The chair is handcrafted from solid mahogany timber, a premium hardwood valued for its strength, stability and ability to hold extensive carved detail.

Solid timber furniture offers depth, substance and enduring character that cannot be replicated by synthetic materials, veneers or mass-produced alternatives.

As mahogany is a natural material, individual components may display variations in grain, tone and natural movement beneath the decorative finish.

Upholstery

The ceremonial seat and central back panel are finished in rich red upholstery selected to complement the gold frame and create a strong, dignified visual presence.

The upholstery has been individually applied and finished by hand. Slight variations in tension, texture and appearance are natural characteristics of handcrafted upholstery.

Please contact our team for confirmation of the precise upholstery composition and recommended care instructions.

Decorative Gold Finish

The decorative gold finish has been individually applied to emphasise the extensive carving, sculptural details and architectural form of the throne.

Subtle variations in colour, depth and patina are inherent in handcrafted decorative finishes and contribute to the unique character of the chair.

Symbolic Carved Detailing

The throne incorporates carved ornamental features including an Om symbol, twin peacock forms, lion arm supports, floral carving and scrolling foliage.

Purchasers should independently confirm that the chair’s symbolic detailing and design are appropriate for their specific religious tradition, organisation and intended ceremonial use.

Natural Materials

This piece combines solid natural timber with premium upholstery and a handcrafted decorative finish. Variations in timber grain, tone, carved detail and surface finish contribute to its authenticity and individuality.

Finishes & Colour Variations

While every effort is made to represent the red upholstery and gold finish accurately, appearance may vary between devices, screens, photography and lighting conditions.

A showroom inspection is strongly recommended where practical.

Inspection

As this is a highly specialised one-only ceremonial piece, prospective purchasers are welcome to arrange an inspection at our Lilydale showroom before purchasing.

Please contact our team to arrange a suitable viewing time.

Delivery & Access

Due to the chair’s height, width, weight and carved structure, specialist furniture transport will be required.

Customers must confirm doorway widths, hallways, staircases, lifts, ceiling clearances and final placement access before purchase.

The purchaser should also ensure that the final floor surface is stable, level and suitable for the weight and scale of the chair.

Please contact our team for assistance with specialist delivery arrangements.

Religious & Ceremonial Use

The Antique Reproduction Shop supplies furniture and does not determine the religious suitability, consecration requirements or ceremonial protocols applicable to a purchaser’s organisation.

Purchasers are responsible for obtaining any guidance or approval required from their religious leaders, trustees or committee before installation and use.

Returns & Exchanges

As this is a specialised, handcrafted and one-only ceremonial furniture piece, we do not accept returns, exchanges or cancellations for change of mind.

We strongly encourage purchasers to inspect the chair, confirm all dimensions and review delivery access before completing the purchase.

If you have any questions before purchasing, our team is always happy to assist.

The Grand Guruji Singhasan Chair is an extraordinary red and gold ceremonial throne handcrafted for Guruji Mandirs, satsang halls, ashrams and distinguished spiritual settings. Created from solid mahogany and richly upholstered in red, this one-only statement chair combines monumental proportions, intricate hand carving and symbolic ornamentation to form a commanding sacred centrepiece.

ONE ONLY — CURRENTLY IN STOCK IN MELBOURNE

TWO MATCHING ROUND MARBLE LION TABLES INCLUDED IN THE PRICE.

Originally created as part of a custom commission for Guruji Mandir settings in Melbourne, this exceptional ceremonial chair is now available as a completed, one-only piece without the usual custom manufacturing lead time.

The towering backrest is extensively carved with scrolling foliage, floral ornamentation and layered architectural detail. Its open carved structure creates exceptional depth and allows the craftsmanship to be appreciated from every angle.

At the centre of the upper crest is the sacred Om symbol, framed by two sculptural peacock forms with outstretched wings. Together, these details create a powerful and highly recognisable focal point suited to a spiritual and ceremonial environment.

The richly upholstered red back panel introduces warmth and devotional colour while providing a striking contrast against the hand-finished gold frame. Its shaped profile sits within the ornate carving like a jewel at the centre of the throne.

A generously proportioned red upholstered seat provides a substantial and dignified seating area. The deep tone enhances the chair’s ceremonial presence while complementing the luminous gold finish.

Sculptural lion figures form the arm supports, contributing strength, symbolism and royal character to the overall composition. Each lion is individually carved and integrated into the substantial arm structure.

The lower frame is enriched with elaborate floral carving, sweeping foliage and a deeply sculpted central apron. Four substantial legs provide stability while continuing the ornamental detailing throughout the design.

The hand-applied gold finish highlights every carved profile, feather, scroll and architectural element. Subtle variations in tone and depth contribute to the individuality of the handcrafted finish and prevent the chair from appearing uniformly mass produced.

Designed for Guruji Mandirs, satsang halls, ashrams, spiritual centres and ceremonial environments, this throne may also be suitable for other religious or community organisations seeking an exceptional sacred or honorary seat.

Every element has been individually handcrafted by skilled artisans, creating a unique ceremonial furniture piece with exceptional visual presence.

More than simply a chair, this is a significant statement of devotion, craftsmanship and spiritual grandeur.
