Lead Times
Many of our pieces are individually handcrafted to order. If this item is not currently available in stock, please allow approximately 12–16 weeks for production and delivery.
Estimated lead times may vary depending on the selected finish, customisation requirements, factory production schedules and international shipping arrangements.
A more specific estimated timeframe will be provided once the final design and specifications have been confirmed.
Handcrafted Furniture
Every piece within our collection is individually handcrafted using traditional furniture-making and joinery techniques.
As a result, timber profiles, drawer spacing, internal compartments, tambour components, hardware placement and dimensions may vary slightly from piece to piece.
These variations are not considered faults but form part of the character and individuality of genuine handcrafted furniture.
Solid Mahogany Timber
This desk is handcrafted from solid mahogany timber, a premium hardwood valued for its strength, stability and rich natural character.
Solid timber provides the depth, substance and enduring quality required for substantial office furniture and cannot be replicated by particleboard, synthetic timber products or mass-produced alternatives.
We do not use timber veneer as a substitute for the solid mahogany construction of our handcrafted furniture.
Roll Top Tambour
The desk features a traditional timber tambour cover designed to move along the curved internal tracks of the upper section.
The tambour should be opened and closed gently and evenly. It should never be forced if resistance is encountered.
Objects must not be placed within the movement path of the roll top. Items stored within the upper desk section should remain below the clearance required for the tambour to move correctly.
As the tambour is handcrafted from individual timber sections, subtle movement or variation may occur over time in response to changes in temperature and humidity.
Writing Surface
The desk includes a traditional green inset writing surface that provides a distinguished and practical area for writing and office use.
The precise composition of the writing surface should be confirmed before ordering where this is important to the customer.
Sharp objects, excessive heat, moisture and abrasive cleaning products should be kept away from the writing surface.
Desk accessories, computer equipment and decorative items should be fitted with suitable protective pads where required.
Drawers & Internal Storage
The desk includes generous lower drawer storage together with smaller internal drawers, pigeonholes and document compartments.
Internal configurations may vary between customised orders.
Drawer contents should be distributed evenly, and drawers should not be overloaded. Heavy items should be stored within the lower sections where practical.
Only one heavily loaded drawer should be opened at a time to help maintain the stability of the desk.
Hardware
The photographed desk features traditional brass-finish handles and knobs.
Hardware colour and style may vary according to availability or the selected custom finish. Alternative hardware options may be available upon request.
Subtle changes in hardware tone may occur over time through regular handling and environmental exposure.
Natural Materials
Mahogany is a natural material and may display variations in timber grain, colour, knots, markings and natural movement.
These characteristics contribute to the authenticity and individuality of every handcrafted desk and are not considered faults.
Natural timber may respond to seasonal changes in temperature and humidity. Consistent indoor environmental conditions are recommended.
Finishes & Colour Variations
This desk may be produced in a range of timber stains, painted finishes and decorative finishes.
While every effort is made to represent colours and materials accurately, appearance may vary between devices, screens, photography and lighting conditions.
Timber and finish samples may be available upon request where practical.
Custom Design Approval
For customised orders, customers will be asked to review and approve the confirmed dimensions, configuration, writing-surface colour, finish and relevant design details before production commences.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that all supplied room measurements and site information are complete and accurate.
Minor handmade variations from approved drawings or reference images may occur as part of the traditional manufacturing process.
Construction & Assembly
Due to the desk’s construction, the upper roll top section may be manufactured separately from the pedestal base to assist with transport and placement.
The exact construction and assembly method should be confirmed before delivery.
Professional assembly may be required depending on the selected configuration and access conditions.
The desk should be assembled and positioned by experienced furniture handlers.
Placement & Flooring
The desk should be positioned on a stable and level floor.
Protective furniture pads may be placed beneath the plinth bases where required to protect polished timber, stone or delicate floor surfaces.
The desk should not be dragged across the floor. It must be lifted and positioned by experienced furniture handlers.
Adequate space should be allowed behind and around the desk for safe placement and comfortable use.
Timber Care
Dust the desk regularly with a clean, soft and dry cloth.
Avoid abrasive cleaners, silicone-based products and excessive moisture. Any timber-care product should first be tested on an inconspicuous area.
Spills should be attended to promptly and should not be allowed to remain on the timber or writing surface.
Avoid placing the desk in prolonged direct sunlight or immediately beside heaters, fireplaces and heating or cooling outlets, as environmental extremes may affect the timber and finish.
Delivery & Access
Due to the desk’s substantial construction, customers must confirm doorway widths, hallways, staircases, lifts and final room access before ordering.
Please consider the overall dimensions of W125 × D70 × H120cm, together with the dimensions of any separate components and the space required to manoeuvre the desk safely.
Please consider:
- Doorway and hallway dimensions
- Staircase width and turning points
- Lift dimensions and weight restrictions
- Final room position
- Space required for assembly
- Skirting boards and wall projections
- Power points and data outlets
- Suitable clearance for the office chair
- Adequate room for the tambour to operate
- Safe access for specialist furniture handlers
Please contact our team before ordering if there are any concerns regarding access or specialist delivery.
Returns & Exchanges
As many of our products are handcrafted, customised or made to order, we do not accept returns, exchanges or cancellations for change of mind.
Customers should carefully review all dimensions, internal configurations, writing-surface selections, timber finishes and access requirements before approving an order.
If you have any questions before purchasing, our team is always happy to assist.
